Collecting the Bat-Family

  • Jan. 4th, 2010 at 3:28 AM
Have you hugged Booster Today?
I collect action figures and have been doing so for years. I get Star Wars, I have a few ATS figures and I have a small DC collection. Mainly consisting of Blue Beetle (Ted), Booster Gold and Supernova. Since the price was right I have started a small Bat-Family collection and am considering getting more. But to keep myself from being the type who has to buy everything I like I set limits to the madness. For this I'm looking for the "essential" members.

My Definition may vary from some )

JLI Blue and Gold Action Figures

Corky being inspirational
I only got these two because I just wasn't as interested in the rest. I didn't think they captured Ice which is why I didn't bother to get Fire. Their much larger than the other Booster Gold and Blue Beetle action figures. About the same size as each other which doesn't really work if you're a nitpicky fan that knows that Booster (who's supposed to be taller than Batman and Superman) is the same height as Ted, who by superhero standard is short.

New Star Trek Barbies

Rip Hunter Badass
I haven't looked at Barbies since the great "Is DCs' Black Canary a hooker?" debate. A friend of mine collects them and while killing time I skimmed to see if they have anything that might be interesting. I found this. They even have Spocks' ears!

You're my What?!
I finally got around to toying with the new camera. The settings are different from my old camera but I managed to get a couple pictures that weren't blurry.

Comics and Collecting

You're my What?!
The two series I've been collecting steadily have been Angel ATF and Booster Gold. There have been different reactions from their respected readers and of course action figures.

You're my What?!
Have you ever wanted to see a character you like get a mini bust or an action figure? Some of mine did but there are still a few I'd like to see.

Likeness Yay or Nay?

You're my What?!
I'm working on expanding my Angel collection so when I found a head I thought was Lilah like I decided to do a custom. I still have work to do like painting, hair, and sewing. But this is what I have so far.

So there's this artist that makes custom figures, etc. for people mainly based on Buffy and Angel. He is very talented. On this board he posted at someone made a huge deal over a spangel piece he did:

Here's the very immature reaction to it

This artist has done a Tara/Willow in bed piece that had not one word against it for being different. Nice to know that people now a days aren't hypocrites, right?

My Angel ATF figures

You're my What?!
So I wanted action figures for ATF and since no one seems to be making them any more I started making my own. Here are the first two.

They think they changed me )

TO buy or not to buy

You're my What?!
While I haven't been wowed by all the heroes action figures coming out I've been considering getting Mohinder. With the images released for future waves I'm thinking about getting Matt, which comes with a Molly. Then I'll have my M3 family.

Fun with action figures

You're my What?!
I have too much fun playing around with the Angel 12" figures. And when you go sorting through old stuff in the basement there are things you just have to try.
