An awful lot of Boostle fans seem to think Teds' jewish, is there any basis on this? I bring this up because earlier today it was brought to my attention that Levin is a common jewish surname. Which would mean that it's likely that Booster is part jewish. Makes sense for him to have backrounds that he's not aware of. And Jason Goldstein too but I'm more interested in the ones who are related.

From the "Uh...So is Barbara Gordon the mother of Booster Gold's son? " Topic
"I haven't read Booster Gold, but I picked up one issue just because the cover said "featuring Batman and Robin" (my favorite duo right now) only to find that Booster Gold is partnered with his son from the future.
Two things:
1. The mother of this son is supposed to be red-headed
2. It's revealed Booster Gold has attempted multiple times to prevent Barbara's crippling from the Joker
What do you guys think about Booster and Barbara as a couple? "
Did I miss something? I'm pretty sure I reread all my comics more than most people but I can't recall it being said that the mother was a red head anywhere. And other than 1,000,000 saying it directly and the Starro hinted at it I can't remember where Booster having a son was even mentioned.
( Basic run down of the tread including whether Babs can even have kids )

Yeah another one of my ramblings. I just tend to over think things, usually when on my commutes and this one stuck out. Around CTIC there Beetle/Booster fans pointed out that Ted could have worked within the system if he wanted to expose the truth.

Geoff Johns tends to foreshadow things in his work, a lot of time it's in the character diolog an issue or more before we grasp the true importances of the statement. Dan Jurgens has done this too with Booster joking that Michelle shouldn't have been saved by Rip, which later is a serious point for Michelle herself. Reading (for the eighth or so time) Booster Gold 26 it struck me that there was an important reason for Wonder Womans' last aside with Booster.
Likely I'm reading too into Jurgens/Johns planning this arc and it's connection to Blackest Night. This will likely never come close to happening in the issue its' self. The only time I can recall being right on the money on guessing what was to come in comics was that Connor and Spike would get along to the point it annoyed Angel. Nevertheless I'm posting the idea that won't get out of my head.

I recalled an early teaser that Geoff Johns gave over starting Booster Gold that had this perfect summary of who Rip was. Simple and to the point of who he's always been, origin change or not. Finally when trying to figure out which JSA issues were the ones Johns started writing him in I found it. Weird right?
"Rip Hunter is the mysterious time traveler running the show," Johns said. "He's a well-experienced, no nonsense adventurer. He's a thrill seeker who constantly restrains himself, someone who is always thinking he can relax as soon as he's taken care of his current mission. But, of course, another mission always comes up."
And that description is how I see Rip. He hides that part of himself because of the mission. But he loves what he's doing because it's the ultimate adventure. This is the guy that when telling Jason that he was above all else a logical man that happened to master different forms of martial arts smirks. He wants to relax there just isn't time to do so. Especially since Booster needs to stay focused. It sort of reminds me of Superman calling Booster on his act and saying that he knows that he loves being a hero. One of these days I'll have to do a list of similar traits Booster and Rip has because it's amusing when you see it.

Most of the complaints I've heard about Booster Gold #26 with the art aren't pages Jurgens did though many said he did. I usually don't pay attention to these things when I'm caught up with the story unless they really jumps out at me.

While Michelle has by no means been developed as well as Booster--likely because writers ignored her ever existing until Geoff Johns--I have noticed a nice twist on their dynamics. Their not the typical comic twins, and the closeness has never been shown as overly sappy. Sure he loves his sister but Booster is by no means the overly protective brother like Quicksilver is with Wanda. Jurgens has made it clear that there is an element of playfulness to them. They act like brother and sister bickering like siblings tend to do. I can appreciate Johns role in bring back Michelle but I think he didn't understand her personality. Strangely, Johns got one factor right but failed to follow up on it all the way.

We see it all the time in every popular series. Be it on tv or comics. Joss Whedon frequently backpedals on what he said to keep playing with the fans that still care about particular pairings. Scott Allie keeps putting his own two cents into things that have nothing to do with the current plot and anger many fans.
I'm willing to give Tony Daniels' (the writer/artist behind Battle for the Cowl) a little leeway despite his opinions of the characters. Simply because he was pretty much pushed into writing the story at the last second, most of the ideas seem to be written for other writers and many keep repeating the company line. Then we have writers like Chuck Dixon, he was fired for protesting the many tie ins and addressed the issue online. Dwayne McDuffie frequently complained about the many restraints DC was putting on his book. Refusing to let him use a few characters, having to dump plotlines to put in tie ins, etc. He also was fired. We also have Mark Waid who said that Dan Didio used to rant about how awful 52 was when they were writing it and how Countdown was "52 done right." Dan Didio denied he said this.
Is honesty a bad thing in this medium or a breath of fresh air?

Finally someone brings up how many lesbian couples are in comics and ponders if DC would out any already established male characters. I haven't read the whole thing yet but I'm pretty amused that every male character the author of the thread lists has his heterosexuality defended except Booster on the first page. Heck even Roy Harper a.k.a. Speedy McArsenal Reddish Arrow is "excused" for being a dad.
I don't really expect DC to do anything like this (even with this "fangirl invasion") when they can't even use their already established gay characters. Still there's fun to be had, like one fans' shocked reaction to learning there's Roy/Dick slash fanfiction on the web.

A friend of mine asked me if I wanted to go on a trip to Japan. The more I think about it the more excited I get about the idea. I want to travel and I've never been out of the country. We didn't talk about the details yet but the first catch is that it would have to be for at least a month.
"What's the point of spending all that money if you're going to be gone for a few days?"
Best thing is my friend speaks the language which is a huge plus. I thought my family would give me grief for considering it. When my sister called she said to go for it and my mom said that I have enough money saved up. I just think my dad will be very wtf about the idea.
In other news I had a really bad headache today that started up just when I was going into work. Having cut it close in calling off before I wanted to at least see if I could make it. My eyes hurt under the light and for some reason the air condition was cut off making me get overheated fast. Once I got dizzy I decided to go home. On the upside I managed to get a good amount of work done before I went home.

So after talking with axolotl-lan about whether Superman/Booster is possible I scanned the 'net to see if I could find fanfic. I didn't. But I did find my favorite bit of Superman ownage and then I realized that if you look at it a certain way it can be rather...

Not quite the route I was going for but I suppose there might be some potential there. Not just for shipping but for Booster who sadly seems to written slutty, stupid or a more than willing bottom. But keep in mind this is also the guy that while a newbie to this time period outsmarted Lex Luthor into losing money and then stole his date telling Lexy that he better start making female robots for himself at this rate.

Where else can you find threads titled "When is Booster going to get laid?" and one devoted to naming every red headed woman known to the DCU in hopes of finding Rips' potential mother. And a new gem:
"I would love it if Booster went back in time to find
Bruce and Ted together "
"What, you mean like in bed or something? That would be kinda awkward... "
I don't know why but these type of things amuse me greatly.
