An awful lot of Boostle fans seem to think Teds' jewish, is there any basis on this? I bring this up because earlier today it was brought to my attention that Levin is a common jewish surname. Which would mean that it's likely that Booster is part jewish. Makes sense for him to have backrounds that he's not aware of. And Jason Goldstein too but I'm more interested in the ones who are related.

This picture has nothing really to do with Booster but art wise we learn that Rip is very, very agile.

Geoff Johns starts on the path to reinvent who Rip Hunter is and how time travel works in his Justice Society of America. In issue #66 the Hourmen try to change their personal history in a battle the JSA has near the Vanishing Point. By doing so they open up a "door" in time that Per Degaton exploits to bring an end to the JSA in 1951, effectively erasing their legacy. Enter Rip Hunter.

Okay this part has to do with Geoff Johns and Jeff Katz run on Booster Gold. Unlike the Time Masters series any hints that we pick up are intentional. Geoff Johns' work in general does tend to hint of things to come. He even hints of things to come in his other books on Rips' boards. Since I haven't gotten around to getting the first GJ written Rip Hunter in his JSA story I'm going to assume this plot line wasn't always in the cards.

I've been thinking of doing this for awhile. Having posts that show the how Rips' history gels with Boosters', etc. I will admit some of these are the most shallow of "hints" especially since in this part the writer(s) wasn't attempting to leave clues at all. Straight from the Time Masters mini series.

I recalled an early teaser that Geoff Johns gave over starting Booster Gold that had this perfect summary of who Rip was. Simple and to the point of who he's always been, origin change or not. Finally when trying to figure out which JSA issues were the ones Johns started writing him in I found it. Weird right?
"Rip Hunter is the mysterious time traveler running the show," Johns said. "He's a well-experienced, no nonsense adventurer. He's a thrill seeker who constantly restrains himself, someone who is always thinking he can relax as soon as he's taken care of his current mission. But, of course, another mission always comes up."
And that description is how I see Rip. He hides that part of himself because of the mission. But he loves what he's doing because it's the ultimate adventure. This is the guy that when telling Jason that he was above all else a logical man that happened to master different forms of martial arts smirks. He wants to relax there just isn't time to do so. Especially since Booster needs to stay focused. It sort of reminds me of Superman calling Booster on his act and saying that he knows that he loves being a hero. One of these days I'll have to do a list of similar traits Booster and Rip has because it's amusing when you see it.

The dc board can be fun or aggravating depending on when you visit them. I have spotted a few threads about the possibility of the mother in questions' identity. Since it's still Rips' 50th birthday month I thought that it would be fun to go over the options and likelihood.

Happy Birthday Rip Hunter, who was first published in May 1959 turning the big 50. So since this is likely not to get a mention/tribute in the comics (though potentially he could appear in two this month: Brave and the Bold 23 and Booster Gold 20) I wanted to take a look at the character. Likely one of the most underrated characters in comics, his history, his personality, that sort of thing.

From the same website that the 52 Audio review was from I found a link to a comic con. I'm not sure if this is big enough news to post on Boostle but someone asked Dan Jurgens about Rips' mom.
